US to UK with stopover in Detroit - do you need to get your bags in Detroit

Hi All

Going to the US with work and things have changed since the last time I transitted through a US airport. Lucky to get a directish flight from Europe to the final US airport going there but coming back have to stopover in Detroit, do we still not see our bags in Detroit and just transit through.

Thanks as always

Normally on the return journey your bags will be checked right through and you won't see them until you get back. Exception may be if you have booked the two legs separately.

Outward you always have to collect them at the first US airport.
