Which canned cat food is best?

Hi, my vet put one of my cats on a Royal Canin dry food, and to save any problems with her eating the other cats canned food, I changed them onto dry food as well. However, I have now seen several posts about how feeding dry food only is really bad for cats, so can anyone give any recommendations on a good canned food. On reading the labels on Whiskas and the like, they seem not so good (although before going onto dried food I fed my cats Whiskas, Felix etc) but now after doing some research I don't really want to go back to that. Was thinking of either feeding them wet food with dried mixed in, two meals a day, or one meal wet food and one meal dried food. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Try this website http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats I order all my cat food from there.
My little guy is currently on Orijen dry food and Bozita wet food.
Smilla, Animonda Carny, Grau, Applaws are all good too. Maybe order a selection and see what he likes? My cat loves Bozita but wasn't crazy on Animonda Carny - he would eat it but didnt seem too keen.
Also don't mix the wet and dry food together, serve them separately.
Hope that was vaguely helpful. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Can I ask why you say that? My cats have wet and dry together for dinner, i'm a bit worried now!
My 2 cats have purely wet food and applaws dry, they love it.

My lot get one dry meal and one wet meal a day. Ideally they would be on Orijen but that's just not in my budget so I keep an eye on PAH (Pets at Home) BOGOF deals and they get Royal Canin or PAH own brand.
Wet food I get from Zooplus mostly. As the above poster mentioned I feed Animonda Carny or Bozita in the tetra packs. I would like to try the Bozita tins next time too. Two of mine love all of it, one is a little more fussy but she's getting there!
I also feed Feline Fayre (Asda or B&M Homestores), bear in mind the blue packs are not complete, the black ones are but as they won't be their exclusive diet the odd complimentary wet meal will do no harm. Nature's Menu goes down well too, you can get that in PAH.

Apparently it loses any abrasive action so they don't get the benefits for their teeth.
No massive danger don't worry:)The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Dry food being good for the teeth is a myth, that would require them to chew a good proportion of the kibble, most cats I know (and I know a lot) don't chew, they inhale their kibble.
If you want something that is good for their teeth and also recommended by vets, give them raw (must be raw) whole chicken wings, chewing the bones is very good for their teeth. This can be intimidating some cats who have never had raw so you can start off with a little raw mince, raw chicken breast etc. The move onto pieces of chicken wing and work your way up.0 -
My lot get Purina dry food avaliable at all times with loads of water and one packet of Whiskas jelly meat thingy between the two of them each day.
They also get a tin of tuna in brine a couple of times a week . They won't touch any left over meat that has been cooked .
Turn their nose up at bones cooked or uncooked but bring in live mice just to show us how clever they are..
They are rescue cats

Mine get Applaws cans or Cosma from zooplus, one can a day between them with Hills dry free fed (with plenty of water available) in two locations.
They won't eat anything else (especially not whiskas or felix) but also including prime cod loin, cooked specially to celebrate their first anniversary of being ours (well, actually, I got an extra piece when buying ours for NYE dinner). But they will mug you for a grape, bit of melon or pineapple, keep nudging you when you're peeling veg to nom the skins that are inevitably dropped and today we've discovered a definite taste for lychees.
Weird, our kittehs? Whatever gave you that idea? :rotfl; We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

fairly certain grapes are poisonous to cats as is chocolate0 -
I've fed my cats dried food for years, mostly Iams, although have used Hills Science for my current kitten. I've never had any health problems related to dried food, all cats have lived to ripe old ages, and find it excellent as you can feed 'on demand', and you don't get the smells, flies etc associated with wet food. If you allow ample water to be freely available, I would prefer it any time.0
