    Debt-free and Proud!
You didnt say anything wrong. I just wanted to make it clear that I have been in everyone elses situation and know what it's like. The way you said "If I had that much money spare I'd enjoy it" like you think I havn't been there. Sorry if it offended.
HI BS,I was simply saying that BECAUSE you have been through it you should enjoy it,nothing was meant to be implied. As I said if I had it spare I would spend it,but as you can understand in my situation that would be a bit silly :D

My mum gave me £30 as a thank you for all the running around I did with my sister last week, following dad passing away at end of October, so I'm hoping to make that last the rest of the month.

It's only going to be milk, bread, fruit juice, cat food for the essentials, plus oven chips, lemonade and the Saturday paper for the "luxuries", so I should manage it if nothing else crops up.

Got caught out on Saturday as had to take the cat to the vet for his jabs plus worming tablet, and as hubby + cheque book was not available at the time I had to use my cash reserves, nearly £28 :(.

So stick me down for £10 per week. As it started yesterday that makes it £3.48 left, as I bought lemonade, bread, milk and Bettabuy cheese slices at Morrisons yesterday, plus a bottle of wine to thank a neighbour for helping me out when I did something really dumb when reversing my car off mum's drive :o . Put it like this, the 6" wall survived, but the underside of the car needs inspecting from underneath  . Hubby says it is still driveable, which is just as well! He was not best pleased at the time though :p.

Anyway I digress (like I always do  ). Re. the lemonade, just to let folks know that Morrisons have a promo on atm, 3x2L for £1, and it's not the flavourless economy stuff either.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • please, please tell me how have you managed to get your debt so much in such a short time. I've over spent today, although having said that spent £10.00 groceries but not planning on doing any type of supermarket shop this week so might get away with £20.00 instead of £50.00, but spent £7.00 on magazines, I know I shouldn't have but can't resist the good food mag get such good recipes etc out of it.

Pastatwists, I know your post wasn't directed to me, but I just have to say that I love your username! It's perfect for this site :D .

Re. recipes in mags, there are more recipes on the internet than you could ever hope for, and personally I refuse to buy mags these days, as most of them are around £2-£3+ for hundreds of adverts interspersed with a dozen or so pages of articles.

Most of the Saturday or Sunday papers have magazine supplements, so if you just want something to flick through, these are much better value.

I spent 49p on a bottle of juice, then spent a further 29p on a can of juice at work today as I forgot to take my bottle of tap water  I also spent £10.88 on a postal order (need this to get my bank statements as going to reclaim my charges) and £14.70 at the vets (my poor chinchilla died so that was the cost of cremation). Grand total of £26.36:doh:

I spent 40p on parking for a mystery shopping assignment. I was so annoyed that I thought I'd look around th e co-op to get my moneys worth. I found 2 frozen free range geese in the bargain bin.

    the origianl price 39.99 each!!!

reduced to 4.99 each. I bought one for us and one for my mum for her christmas dinner with my sister and neice. SHe was thrilled. And so am I.

    August 2009 grocery challenge £172.64/,,,,,

no point in doing grocery challenges, have no money left over to eat :0/
  • £50 budget for the week. Sunday spend was £0.

    Today:
£2.65 on return train ticket to work (on my day off, grrr..)
£0.00 on Boots meal deal (hurrah for Advantage card points)

I could be getting the hang of this. Except that I'm about to go to the pub.
