JSA (c) - HB and CTB

Hi All,
I have applied for and was awarded JSA on 1st December 2010 - I was told it is contribution based as I have been working for the past 10 years or so.
At the same time I have applied for both CTB and HB and I am STILL waiting for a decision.
They were asking me for my daughter's student status and it took me ages to get a letter from her Uni stating that she is a full time student (2nd year).
Is this normal for all to be held up because of that one letter (I finally handed it in last week)?
How can my daughter being a student and living here affect my HB and CTB claims? She does not work at all, full time student.
With the contribution based JSA - is the entilement to HB and CTB "automatic" or can those be somehow refused - if so, on what grounds?
I have never claimed any benefits in my life so have no idea how this all works but just read someone wbout contribution based JSA being different than income based JSA and got a bit worried.
At the moment my only income is £65 per week JSA.
Any advice very much appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, your claim will be delayed until they have the evidence they require.
You will not have any money deducted from your HB whilst your daughter is a full time student. Her income is irrelevant.
HB and CTB are not automatic with CB JSA. They take into account your income and any capital you have.Gone ... or have I?0 -
DMG 24 - thanks for that0

No it doesn't. Its usually the Monday following but there are different rules for people who have just moved into a property or are pension age.:rotfl:0
