redundancy pay

I have been told that i will be made redundant before the end of March .
I work 18 hours per week and get paid a basic rate for 16 hours . I get an enhanced rate for two hours as they are weekend hours . will my redundancy be based on the basic rate plus the enhanced rate ?
the leaflets i have been given from HR are not clear as they only talk about full time equivalent salary.
i don't have the option of not working the enhanced hours and the enhancement is written int the terms of employment .
Many thanks for any help

Hello, horribly confusing, isn't it.
Try this redundancy calculator from business link http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/layer?topicId=1079123792
I expect others will help more. It's a bit of a quiet time at night on here, but bump your post up in the morning when more users are about.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
thanks , will take a look at the link and pop back in the morning. why do they tell you these things on a friday when there is no one to ask questions of until monday?

From what I understand, if it forms part of your normal weekly pay it is included. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

Your post suggests that you are contracted to the pay for 16 hours plus the 2 at a special rate and that you have been on this for some time. Any redundancy payment should be based on the total weekly amount (subject to the capping of £380).0

The cap increases to £400 on 1 February - but the OP would need to be earning about £20/hour to be earning that much a week. If actual pay is less than £400/week then it is the actual weekly pay that is used in the calculation.0
