Regardless of where the back office administration takes place, the address provided above is exactly the right place to send a written complaint communication to.

I'm not saying don't write to them there. But from experience they can't and don't deal with the loan being referred to. As mentioned in the first post they forward it on to Halifax. Which means relying on IF dealing with it properly, which again from experience they don't. I will try and find the Halifax address IF customers are advised by loan customer services to write to.

Also the IF loan you have is 100% Halifax, if as you said it's 10 digit reference number. I don't even think IF can view it. So writing to them won't help at all.

Surely the 10 digit number is the IF Customer Identification Number?
  • The general Halifax address is this:

    Halifax
    Trinity Road
    West Yorkshire
    HX1 2BR

They have shut too many departments of loans to give a better address really.

    Write to both.

I can't remember totally how it worked. Basically there were loads of different kinds of IF loans. Online are one type, there is a 13 or 15 digit joint venture type held by the BOS systems with Customer Services in Chester. Then the 10 digit dealt with somewhere else. The 10 digit IF loans were always angry customers because they could never find who dealt with them and were constantly passed around because staff had no idea what to do.

Apparently it's because IF don't offer loans now. And so Halifax deal with managing them.
