Thanks all! I don't like the poach pods because they always turn out like boiled eggs and not poached eggs. I like the whites "just" cooked and lots of yolk dribbling over the toast.
Will give it a few more goes, otherwise it will be practising the whirlpool technique again.0 -
you said with less water the top doesn't cook - if you put a lid on wouldn't the steam cook the top? I'm a huge fan of the Lakeland poachpods as well - with the lid on I do get a bit of water on the top, but it doesn't mix in with the egg so I just tip it off when I take it out.

I have several similar ones to yours ubamother, and they cook lovely in the steam :beer:wading through the treacle of life!
