Ok so we're in Nissan today looking at trading in a car against a Nissan Note and we were told if we use a friends and family discount we would get 500 quid less on our trade in price?
Whats that all about surely Nissan absorb the cost of the discount not the dealers so why should the dealer get to offfer less on a part ex price than without the discount?
Or am i just missing the obvious and been daft?

Chances are that the dealer may have given you a favourable price on your part exchange in order to get your business. With a friends and family discount, although Nissan will absorb most of the cost, the dealer will take some of the hit as well. The vehicle will not count towards their dealer target, and will literally make them zero profit. They will then more than likely want to play it safe with your part exchange price in this instance, as any amount of overpricing will mean that they would be paying for you to take the car. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
