laptop recommendations please

Hi Guys

I'm after a bit of independent advice rather than sales spiel from instore.

My laptop is on it's last legs. We've run out of memory, it's slow and it keeps freezing. We don't have any viruses (uptodate software) and I think it may be because it's quite old.

So, I'd like to get a new one, but there is so much choice.

I'm not bothered about brand, as long as it's reliable. I'd like a large memory, like 500gb as we take lots of photos. It's used for editing photos and surfing the net.

Any suggestions?
