Whats the best all round cleaner?

Hi, there are such a load of cleaners on the market, different ones for kitchens, bathroom, windows etc. I tend to use wipes for my floors as I don't have a bucket anymore for my mop and I don't have a huge amount of hard flooring to mop. The general cleaners are baffling though, do you use a separate one for every job?

The best all round cleaner is my OH.;) But seriously... have yet to find one product that works effectively for all applications despite what the ads suggest: however I am a fan of Bar Keepers Friend.

The general consencus on the boards is that Stardops is a brilliant all rounder.
I clean my bathroom, kitchen, wooden floors, in fact everything in my home and its just absolutely brilliant.

Usually 80p to £1.00 for a big bottle, now very MSE

We dont smoke in the house but do so in the conservatory, the vertical blinds get really yakky, an overnight soak in
stardrops and they are sparklinng, ready for the next onslaught. lol

Stardrops for every thing, gets my vote.

  • Hi, thanks for your replies. Stardrops has been on the go for years, I remember my Mum using it when I was a kid. Thing is you have to dilute it don't you? I tend to use the spray cleaners as they seem more convenient, aswell as the cleaning wipes. I will have a look at the threads on here about Stardrops though.

Has anyone used that Cillit Bang? I just bought some of the toilet cleaner and I've chucked it, it smells too much like bleach, I've gone back to my toilet duck.

Stardrops is also sold in trigger packs that you dont have to diute.

Cillit bang, expensive and really bad for the environment.

All them bottles and cans cluttering up your cupboards and they could all be substitued by just one bottle of Stardrops.
(and think of all the combined chemicals going down your sink into the system)

You dont really need Mr Sheen, a normal wipe with a dry cloth will sort out any furniture.

I just use bleach, or an all-purpose spray. Must try stardrops. I keep hearing about it on here.

They have it in asda, wilkinsons but not I think Tesco around here - if you want it in a spray bottle the cheapest way to do it is get a cheapo garden 1 litre sprayer, fill it with dilute solution and you are in business - just refill when used up.
