Flight cancelled by Easyjet, who can I claim hotel costs from?

I booked flight and hotel through an agent. They are not a package as such...
From the agent website-
"FLIGHT & HOTEL
The online Flight & Hotel facility on **whateveragent**.co.uk is a great booking tool that gives you, the customer, the opportunity to book your flight and accommodation separately but at the same time, selecting from a wide range of airlines and accommodation suppliers. You have the freedom to choose your own duration, anything from one night and then decide whether you want to add a shuttle bus, a private taxi or car hire to your tailor made holiday. You can even book attraction tickets to your booking (subject to availability). Each element of the booking is separate and are all protected separately through our financial protection scheme."
Does this make sense0 -
Ok, so 1 or 2 online agents come to mind.
Basically, you are in the same situation as the OP. If the airline cancels, whilst you will get a refund of the flight, your accommodation is booked seperately, and will undoubtidly still be charged for, even if you cant get there.
The last sentence can be seen as a bit misleading. People will look at it and see the words 'financial protection scheme'. However, to me it looks like if you book a flight and the flight company / airline goes bust you are financially protected for the flight (ie you will get your money back - eventually), however your accommodation is still a live booking and if you cant get a new flight to tie in with your pre-booked accommodation then tough.
Hopefully though, everything will be ok.

Thanks. I'm hoping it won't get to that stage! For last week's strike, the ATC didn't participate.
I have travel insurance, but, coincidentally, the same as the OPs, where they seem to contradict themselves in terms of whether cancellation/ curtailment pays out in the case of industrial action.0
