mp3 burning

After my spot of bother with Nero 7 the other week a poster on here pointed out that it's five years old so, today I downloaded Nero 10. (Burning ROM 10)

Now I can't find out how to burn mp3 songs to CD - there are in my PC library as mp3s but Nero converts them back to wav format. And I've searched the 'help' feature but it doesn't help.

Some advice would, once again, be appreciated.

On Vista if it makes a difference.

If you need to make a CD with mp3's
Then treat them as Data not Audio files in Nero.

    Not used Nero in YEARS!!
But in Vista can't you just stick in a blank CD in you your drive and drag and drop MP3's on to the CD and burn them?

Thanks for the 'data' info - Nero 7 had a 'jukebox' option which worked very well.

Could use Windows Media, and even iTunes I suppose and haven't ever tried your other idea of drag and drop.... :o off to give it a go!

Tried it and not sure it's really 'friendly' - couldn't move tracks around once they had been dragged and dropped so getting all album tracks together.

So - can anyone help with the mp3 problem that I'm encountering in Nero 10 please?

I've used most versions of Nero up to version 8. In those versions you could always specify:

If you choose Audio-CD it will convert your MP3 files to WAV which will play on normal CD players.

If you choose Data-CD it will just copy the MP3 files as MP3 without converting them and these can onl be played in computers and mp3 compatible dvd players, etc.

Guessing version 10 will have something similar.

Maybe the multimedia suite has the mp3 pro plug in

ImgBurn is straightforward for MP3 discs which play in compatible hi fi units

Click tools, create cue file, click the browse (next to time), add the files, it will give a percentage used as you add files, then you can move them up, either up one or to the top

No data files option that I can see!

    Options are:

    CD-ROM (ISO)
    Audio CD
    Mixed Mode CD
    CD Extra
    CD Copy
    CD-ROM (Boot)
    CD-ROM (UDF)
    CD-ROM (UDF/ISO)
    CD-ROM (SecurDisc)
    Nero Discspan (UDF)

Think I will have to 'revoke' this purchase as it seems particularly useless for me.

Have now burned three discs using different programmes and will test them in the car today.

Use the first option "CD-ROM (ISO)"
That should write the mp3's as data files instead of converting them to WAV's
