Hi. I had a virus on my computer a few days ago so took it to be "cleaned". Had it back on Friday, but now I can't connect to the Internet at all. There is a little cross on the wireless sign in corner of the screen & when I go into it, it tells me no networks can be found.
Anyway, I looked up on the Internet from my mobile what to do & it says to go to device manager, which I have done but my Internet isn't listed in there at all. I am using plusnet & the router is thomson. Does any one know what to do to get my wireless working again? Think the man deleted something but I can't get hold of him till Monday now.
Have called plusnet but they are not interested at all.
Hope this makes sense as I am posting from my phone.
Thank you.

Hi, yeah it's a laptop & wireless is definitely on. Thanks for your response. If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0

Is your phone internet enabled, and if so are you using that on Wifi or data network?
Could always be a problem with the actual router in broadcasting, assuming your wireless is on and whoever cleaned it didnt delete drivers. In which case just try resetting the Thomson router. (power down for 30seconds and back on). Also sometimes wireless is switched off by a hardware switch on the laptop, double check that this is on.0 -
Click on the wireless network icon then click 'Refresh'. Do you get a list of available networks?Never Knowingly Understood.

Yeah wifi is working fine on my phone.
Have reset the router several times & turned off computer, but nothing changes.
Have also refreshed but still says none available!
If he has deleted drivers, is there a way to get if back? I have a feeling this is what may have happened! If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0 -
OK
Have you a network cable you could use to plug into the laptop and router to make sure basic networking is fine...
If it is
then there's 2 options
1 ) Your wireless might be set to "hidden"
Their should be an option to set up a "Hidden Wireless Network" on your laptop's wireless page.
You need the name of your wireless router (check the settings on your mobile and use that name)
2) You need to install drivers for your wireless. plug it in via a network cable and check the makers website for drivers... as well as Windows Update..Laters

Also run Windows Update, it might find the correct drivers as well. (if the drivers are missing that is...)Laters
