an issue regarding quoting posts

i have noticed that if i quote someones post that has a picture in it the picture disappears and all that appears is a quoted post with nothing in it but the text if any. this of course is an annoyance if i am commenting on the picture because people will not know what i am doing if the picture is not there.
so why does this happen? it never used to. it also doesnt seem to happen to anyone else.

I think it varies ; it's hit and miss/ sometimes the picture appears/BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

I'm sure it always used to because it annoyed me that people included a repeat of what would usually be a picture irrelevant to the reply.
I'll put a small picture in and check what happens if I quote it.

so as you can see only the text remained. so imagine if i quote a post with a pic from several pages back. no-one will have clue what i am talking about.0

Something to do with trying to conserve space on the servers?-I'm sure even MSE's do not have unlimited capacity...No free lunch, and no free laptop
