Advice needed please.
We are looking to buy a diesel car and the two frontrunners are
Ford focus zetec 1.6 99000 miles 06 plate £4750
Ford cmax 1.6 70000 miles 04 plate £3800
which is the better car/deal?
Thanks

not sure, but thats quite high millage for a 06 plate? interseting to see what others say as im considering a1.6 diesel focus c max myself, jus the size issue with 3 small kids0

Badgerhead, we thought that too about the milage.0

The Focus is overpriced IMO. Should be able to pick up a 30k mile 07 plate for about 5k these days. Unless it's a diesel (in which case it's still overpriced)0

Focus is very overpriced.
I have one sitting on my drive at the moment - a 1.6 petrol zetec estate.
It a 2005 either on an 05 or 55 with a full service history and only just hit 60k and I thought I would be lucky to get £4500 if I sold it and its got warranty on it, new tyres and just had an mot.
I bought it 2 years ago at auction for £4500 with 34k on the clock so similar now would be an 07 plate.
The Cmax looks better priced but again we have one of these with a 1.8 diesel on a 56 plate with only 35k on the clock and I dont think the Mrs would get more than 5k if she sold it.
If you have 5k there are better about. You should be able to pick up a 3/4 year 60k ex fleet car up from auction for that with a full service history. Probably get a ghia or titanium spec for that money as well.0 -
thanks ukjoel, unfortunatly we don't have 5k to spend and I am not confident going to an auction to buy one.0
