We have a newish combi Worcester Greenstar boiler and recently - I have noticed that it is not heating up the water as quickly as previous and also, the water is not as hot (put down to cold weather)

Today - I noticed that the master switch light on the (top left) on the panel is no longer glowing (blue?) The central main on/off blue one is still on
The boiler appears to be functioning still

The boiler was serviced last year and is not due for another service until May....
Could someone please confirm that the light should be illuminated ?

If you mean the small green light with a flame mark next to it that only comes on when the boiler fires up when you call for hot water or heating.

No - the big push button above the one marked with a spanner called "Master switch for On/Off"

I don't know which model boiler you have but on my Worcester boiler that switch does not light up it switches the central blue on/off light.

Is your heating still working, you think the water is taking longer you have not switched the eco button on (glowing green if on) by any chance?

No - it is not the eco button - the model is a Greenstar Junior 28i

Taken from the manual for the greenstar 28i

    Problem....No on/off indicator

    Cause.. momentary power failure

Remedy.. Switch off boiler @ master switch
wait a few seconds then switch on again.

If you dont have a copy of your boiler manual you can download
    a copy here.

So you can confirm that it should be illuminated ?
I tried killing the power and it made no difference at all !!
And the reset button does not indicate a fault either.....

Ive no idea if there should be a light next to the switch you mention, on my Worcester boiler you have a blue light in the middle that stays on all the time & a green one that lights up when the boiler is running.

No it should not be illuminated there is no light in that button, as previously stated it switches the mains power on and off which is indicated by the central blue light.
