Thank you for your reply.
When I say 'had' I meant prior to receiving the conformation of zero balance. This was sent to me in a text from BT when they closed my complaint.
Do you think this is enough? Should I respond, or wait for further communications?
A text from BG, I presume. You could safely ignore and it will probably go away. It's only a formal pre-action protocol letter that needs you to respond
Or you could write and tell them you owe nothing. But that will mean a lot of letters going back and forwards0 -
BG yes! My bad.
Thank you - I’ll post here again if I have any further communications.0 -
Heya - glad to see this thread is active!
I have just received a letter from LCS. We bought the property in May, the previous owner was a builder. I took meter readings and registered, then transferred to BG.
Just checked my old account with Bulb it is all paid up final bill clear zero balance a/c closed... BG I pay on DD am in credit. I can only imagine that they are fishing for the previous owner but the letter is just a fishing one.
I will not give them my details - but should I give them details of the previous owner as well of details for when we bought the property? - this is public record so again I don't want to freely give this information out!
Advice please?0 -

I wouldn't give them anything. If they are just writing to 'the owner', ignore them.0 -
These people are disgusting, cant you threaten to sue them for harrassment. They cause so much disturbance to people. My son has been receiving threatening letters for a property that he left in 2015 and they are claiming he owes up to 2018. Unfortunately he closed the account verbally and sent a meter reading - I think you must send an email so you have evidence in writing. He got a first letter from LCS this year in November.0

Google "back billing"
Also if he sends a Subject Access Request and they fail to provide evidence of any debt, then you can send a Notice of Correction on the account. You can actually sue for harassment** if you wish on the basis of misusing personal data but you'll have to do a lot of work first.
(** You can sue anyone, for anything in court if you want. You just have to be able to pay the bill if you lose)Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

Are you saying that they say you owe British Gas (Electricity I presume) for 11/9 to 30/9? Is it possible that your EDF supply did not go live till 30/9 and is the British Gas bill for a reasonable amount for 3 weeks use?
Did you keep your meter readings? If it is likely that you owe British Gas something I'd talk to them rather than LCS.0 -
Im affraid i dmt have the readings bit theres no way i could of used all that then never used the heating then and didnt start moving in till 3 4 days after getting the keys just went to paint, edf saod i domt need to do meter readings till they ask, do i have a leg to stand on?0

Have a chat with British Gas. At least you're then talking to the organ grinder rather than the monkey.0
