I have since moved from the property LCS were contacting me for, but my phonecalls have also ceased despite me not changing my number. Simply by sending them a bill for costs related to contact.
I sent them a letter some time ago saying that the bill for all unsolicited calls was £20 and for all letters £50. I then sent them a bill for £120 after they contacted me by phone a number of times.
Not heard a peep since.
Maybe you should employ a bottom end debt collector to chase your £120 debt. One that won't be bothered how valid your claim is.
Can't think of one at the moment, though...0 -

I love that idea. Shall I employ LCS to chase LCS for a debt? I wonder how long it would take for them to figure it out.0 -
got a letter from LCS today, it's addressed to the occupier/landlord, asking for my details and the previous tenants details, and the landlords details, it also asks for "any other information deemed relevant to this enquiry" hard to do when I have no idea what the inquiry is about apart from "utility supply"...
Any idea what they are after as all my utility accounts are up to date, I'm guessing it's the past tenant they are after, what is their likely next move? more letters, visits?0 -

Probebly more letters, yes, they seem to be on a fishing trip, so don't take there bait.
A letter with no name on it you can disregard.
If it's the previous tennents there after, then it's not your problem.

If it's not yours, no harm in passing on the details of previous tenant or landlord if you have them. I did this once and never heard from them again.:beer:0

I received a text from LCS today asking me to contact them regarding my Anglican Water services account - should I ignore this?
Any help appreciated.0 -

if you owe the money then I would ring anglican and make a payment plan with them, if they will take the debt back, not sure if you can demand to only deal with anglican if they have sold the debt? maybe someone else can comment on that.0 -

Hi all, made an account just to post here after I received a letter from LCS saying I should contact them about a "personal matter" but giving me no other information and the only information of mine they have is my name and current address.
I am a student in my final year of university living in rented accommodation but have only lived at my current address for this academic year and my tenancy started in July.
I rung them anonymously as I didn't want to give them my phone number and they told me I owed some money to E-on regarding a gas/electric bill from June to November last year.
However we are with British Gas for our gas and electricity so we shouldn't be paying/don't owe them anything. Furthermore my name is not on any of the bills as one of my house mates pays them and we give her the money. So even if we did owe money, letters like this shouldn't be coming to me as I have never had an account with either E-on or British Gas.
Just some more background that i think is relevant: the previous tenants were foreign students (Chinese students studying abroad for a year) and they were with E-on and once their tenancy was up they left the country and didn't pay their bills. Our land lord told us at the beginning of the year he would take care of them and put them in his name and I have no reason to believe he did otherwise as any other problem we have had like this he has been more than accommodating to help us out.
So really I'm just wondering what I should do now, especially as I don't owe anybody any money yet they say I do?
I'm also wondering how they got my contact details as, as I said earlier, I don't have an account with either E-on or my actual gas and electric supplier British Gas?
I haven't spoken to my land lord about it yet and I haven't done anything with regards to LCS either, apart from my phone call just to find out what they were sending me a letter about so any kind of advice would be appreciated!0 -
