Laptop for image editing

Im looking for a laptop for image editing. I only have a max of £500 to spend.

I have been looking at the Acer Aspire 5743 (i3 processor). Is this good enough for what i need.

Am i better getting more RAM and looking for a separate graphics card and maybe dropping to a dual core processor.

Any ideas or suggestions of laptops welcome.

Thanks in advance
Barry

If you really are only going to be editing still images (e.g. photos) then that should be fine - it's not a particularly resource-intensive task. If on the other hand you are doing video editing and rendering, or if you are thinking of also doing 3d-graphics gaming then you will need to look for something else.

2GB of memory should be adequate under Win7. A dual-core would probably make things marginally quicker, but I doubt you would really notice unless you intend to run several resource-intensive programs at the same time.
