    If the debt was on a card witth say 20% APR if you've been racking up debt, it's likely to be higher that would take nearly 7 years to pay off if you were to only be paying £180 p/m.

    If you were paying £320 it would be under 3 years.


    You can understand why businesses do it. After all, it's your credit report that gets affected not theirs.

    OP have you been applying for several cards in a short space of time because this won't help either.
