Private IVF Costs

My step sisters daughter current about to go through 3rd and last NHS IVF.If they want to try in future it will have to be funded privately.Anyone any ideas how much private treatment costs?

MY SIL has unhappily failed twice, and in Sussex, that is all the NHS will fund.

Private IVF will cost her £5,000 a round.

I believe it can be cheaper or even free if you are prepared to donate an egg to another couple.

Private IVF costs can vary from about 2.5 k to 5k ish.

It depends on several things and the treatment required,for example ICSI ,which is usually required if the man has poor semen was an extra £850 on top of the basic£2.5 k,there's also the cost of drugs which in my case were about £900,but obviously this depends on individual prescriptions. Some clinics will also offer other treatments, such as assisted hatching and blastocyst transfer which will all add to the bill.

You will also have to pay for a private consultation ( mine was £140) and maybe some additional tests that the consultant deems necessary.

I had 2 attempts at IVF and didn't qualify for any NHS funding.

We were one of the lucky ones and our gorgeous DS is now 11 months.:)

http://www.hfea.gov.uk/ might be worth a trawl through. You can search for clinics near your postcode, then go to the clinic's website.

Our straightforward IVF cost around £3K, but we live in Yorkshire. I know a friend's sister in law has just had a failed IVF attempt at Harley Street which cost £10K.
