5.65% gross - This account still available?

I remember seeing this post somewhere. After looking at 'normal' (ie non monthly saver) savings accounts, this seems to be the highest at 5.65%. Anyone take this up and is it still around?

If you treat it as a fixed term fixed rate bond, it isn't a bad rate.

The account details are still available on L&C's site through: http://www.lcplc.co.uk/standard_1_column_multi_doc_1.aspx?id=0:27148&id=0:21992 so I presume it's still available.

But I'm not sure that better fixed rates aren't available ... including one from the Coventry (who also run the L&C account): see http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/savings/bestbuys/savings_fixed.aspx

Just gone with the West Brom fixed bond at 5.65% and the deal is now done, the cheque cashed, I then heard about the Coventry rate - if only I had waited a week. I suppose something better is always around the corner though... ah well, that's life.
