Divorce 5 years no contact whereabouts unknown

I was wondering if anyone has divorced on these grounds. My ex was a nasty violent man so I didn't pursue a divorce on unreasonable behaviour as I was frightened of him. 5 years is almost here (thank god) and I know that this ground for divorce is not common and will be harder as I don't know where he went......

Any ideas/advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Thanks for your reply, he didn't leave a forwarding address and I have tried to contact his family and electoral rolls for where I think he might have gone.

Best of luck moving on then. I hope 5 years has been enough time to get your life back together and this is just a formality!

A relative of mine was in your position, she put an advert in the local paper covering where he lived when he was last in contact. There was no response from him or anyone else and that satisfied the legal side of tracking him down.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
