    It's looking good then.

I will have to download and install. After downloading 7.5 do I remove/uninstall 7.1 and then install 7.5?
    Regards
    erb :)
  • Yep working fine from 7.1 to 7.5
  • Will it not automatically install when 7.1 becomes outdated:confused:

It may but then again why wait you will get a notificaton so upgrade as it will be installed and running before its not supported so it will then be ready for new attacks.
  • Ok have done but what does this mean - Local machine: installation failed
    Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgemc.exe: stopping service....
The service has not been started. (1062)

Did you download the free version http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-virus-free also was it running/scanning on install?

Just right click the AVG icon and choose quit then try a reinstall.

By default AVG runs a scan of your whole system and hard drive once per day, usually on starting your computer. It will scan every single folder including for example all your photo folders. I found it hugely interferes with smooth starting the usual programs you want to use and causes the PC to run slowly for the first half-hour of the day. Better to allow the realtime bit of AVG to catch any incoming viruses then do a complete scan once per week. You can disable this complete daily scan behaviour in the settings, also do a quick system scan of the system areas only manually, this is quick.

Yes i did, but it must have not done it, i have re-done it and it has now installed.

No matter how much i read on it it still makes no sense to a blonde:rotfl: it updates every night and i scan once a weekish but I didnt realise it did something on start up:confused:
