I think the one of the main messages behind the fish fight is that we should be making an effort to broaden our horizons with the fish we buy. We alreayd buy tonnes of cod salmon and tuna, yet there are loads of different fish out there.
I am going to combine doing this with my new years resolution to do more of my shopping locally and put less of my money in tesco's tills. There is a local market where I live with a couple of fishmongers with a huge range of fish and seafood, lovely looking (and cheap) mackerel and live crabs!
Very keen to try making my own crabcakes, though a little put off by a recipe I read which gives tips on what to do when the crab tries to defend itself!0
