returning faulty ipod to argos.

Hi folks, i'm sure this subject has been discussed before, and i apologise, however i'm needing some advice.
I bought my boyfriend an ipod touch (4th gen) from argos for a christmas gift. i bought it on 30th november. when using this, there have been some faultsm mainly when you log on to emails, its showing that theres emails there, but not displaying them, other faults have included the screen being jumpy and also the first song of every album isnt being played! as ipods are exempt from the 30 day guarantee, should i expect them not to take this back? if they do take it back, will they offer to replace, or repair? also, if it gets replaced, what happens to the apps my boyf has bought and paid for?
should i return this to my local apple shop instead? may be a silly question, but thought i'd just ask.

Call the Apple store, book an appointment, I think they'll give you a replacement on the spot.

Make sure you sync it with Itunes, and all his apps are backed up on the computer

Agreed, go to the Apple store. They'll be much more helpful than Argos.

well thank you very much folks. when i said to my boyfriend to take it to the glasgow apple store he laughed at me and said that wouldn't work as it was bought from argos. if nothing else, you've helped me to prove him wrong.
anyway, i'll make an appointment to take it into the apple shop.
