Amazon Bank of America CC - JUST VENTING

Options
:mad::mad::mad:
I am on a promotional offer that means I pay 0% interest until my Feb statement for Amazon's CC with Bank of America.
Just seen my January statement and they've charged me interest!
I pay more than the minimum amount each month and do it before the deadline.
Worse: I've got to wait until 9am Monday before the office is open!

Had you paid "Twice" in one month i.e. paid two payments but one of them hit the same statement as the previous one and therefore no payment was recorded on the subsequent payment?

This is a common mistake, paying "Early" and the credit card company doesn't allocate the second payment to the next statement.

If this is the case, call them and apologise, offer to make a debit card payment there and then, and they should refund the fee / interest and resume your introductory offer, as long as you are nice and humble about it. Setting up a DD for the minimum payment to avoid it happening again.

If this isn't the case, well, you'll have no problem atall getting the charge refunded and promotion resumed :o

Do you know why you have been charged? if you don't pay by DD did you miss the payment deadline over xmas? Check your December statement to see what date the payment had to reach them by and the check what date it was actually credited on your January statement.

Also double check December's statement to see that next month's estimated interest did show as 0.

  • Thanks for your replies. I've checked the payment dates really carefully and there is no problem with the payments arriving at the 'wrong' times. It's very strange.
  • When exactly did your 0% promotion period end??

I think the OP's point is that (s)he believes that it has not yet ended.

  • If you have had no late payments and you are certain your 0% should still be on give them a call.

Bank of America are open 24 hours in their customer service area.

    0800 062 062 is the number.

Mine is - that he believes it ends as at statement date when in fact it has already ended.

Probably very unlikely but I have a query about an amazon credit card that could be linked. I've just taken out one of these cards this month on the 5th January. When I applied for the card, it said that I would get 0% on purchases for 9 months. On the online servicing website, it says I have got 0% on purhases until the 5th November this year. Now I make that 10 months, not 9. So unless I am missing something here, I have got until the 5th November to pay the whole balance off therefore actually having 10 months at 0%? Or is this an error on their part which the OP may have been affected by?
