    From the site

This setup contains the free as well as the paid version of AVG Anti-Spyware. After the installation, a free 30-day trial version containing all the extensions of the full version will be activated. At the end of the trial, these extensions will be deactivated and the program will turn into a feature-limited freeware version. The purchased license code can be entered at any time.

this is the AVG rebranded EWIDO anti-spyware, they took them over a few months ago , meant to be the first steps towards an AVG internet security suite...combined Firewall/antivirus/antispyware

I highly recommend Ewido/AVG over in the Techies section of the forum in the Malware removal sticky

I'm still using spybot. I like AVG for anti virus because it comes as a standalone product that doesn't try to sell you their other tools

I got fed up with Mcafee when they brought in their own security centre style interface (2005 version) which constantly told you the PC wasn't secure until you bought all their products!

I would recommend you use more than just spybot, I use it in conjunction with Adaware and now the AVG product, they all find items that the others don't.

As mentioned above the Malware thread on the Tech board gives great info on what anti-spyware software you should run.

Also if you are using AVG antivisrus I find it useful to run stinger once a month as AVG doesn't always catch everything, If using stinger make sure you download the latest version every time you run it.
