puberty book

Any recommendations for a good book explaining puberty to a 10 year old girl, we have spoken about it but she's said she'd rather have a book and then just ask questions

I had 'have you started yet' this was erm 15-16 years ago though but I thought it was great! Maybe slightly outdated regarding the sanitary advice but you can always get her a few leaflets for that.

I note it has some great reviews! I actually feel a bit nostalgic about it! I spent months sat hiding behind my door, furtively reading about boobs and hormones!

It's good as it explains the changes that happen in both boys and girls.

The usborne book is fantastic! I bought the girl and bot version and I can't say enough how wonderfully factual these books are!

She's 13 now and still looks at it occasionally. It has allsorts of tips in there from hair washing to personal hygiene.

I also had "Have You Started Yet" and my Mum recently bought it again for my young niece. It was a brilliant book and I would highly reccommend it.

I had this too!! Mum left it in my room to find, how embarrassing , it was really good if I remember rightly.

We / I got this for my DD when she was about 9 or 10, told her to go read it and come and ask me if she had any questions... it was a bit of a cop out but it turned out she is quite shy at asking some things, so it turned out to be a good thing.

though she still did ask if me and her Dad still "did it" so I gave her the "well we love each other and it's a good way to show our love for each other" which I expected to lead to "bleurgh how disgusting" rather than her asking how often we were doing it!!! :rotfl:

It was then she found out there are some questions I won't answer! ( DH told her it was every night if anyone, which she thought was really funny):rotfl:

I also got the Usborne book for my Daughters and found it to be factual without being frightening!!!

Covers not just periods and chnges to the body but also hair, sweating (and the need to wash!) etc. It was great
