Diffcuilt for a non in debt customer to get a very high limit

Options
Why do credit card companies give people who can't afford it high limits, yet someone like myself with a very high salary and no debts find it so hard to. I always have probelms requesting it. card always cleared on time very large ammounts spent and never had any debt ever! MBNA, Barclays, Halifax, Natwest all them.......

I have just had a three day arguement to get a pathetic 20K spread over two cards. Any advice on where to go for a decent one I do not wish to pay an anual fee for somthing like Natwests black card for the pointless benefits I do not want! When I already have them.

  • 2 cards - 20K = pathetic?

Are you for real? Apply for a Vanquis card. They will give you the limit you are after.

Yes I'm been serious, I don't joke travel alot business and pleasure and it all adds up fast. Ideally need somthing that will go to 50K without an yearly fee that my bank take. I refuse to top them up with a bunch of addons I do not want!!!

My heart bleeds for you. Pay it back in full every month, that will give you an annual pin-money of 240k.
That should be enough for most people, unless you are Lakshmi Mittal, of course.

If you are L.M, get an AX ‘Centurion’ card. (Don‘t be so stingy about the annual fee; just think of the prestige!)

There are plenty more like this. They all have an annual fee but if you are really spending enough to need them surely the fee is fairly irrelevant (although the cashback will allow you to recover this fee)

    The answer may be that

Credit files, these days, hold the intimate details of your debts and your repayments. If it looks as though you will never incur any charges then banks are now able to see this clearly and limit your access to free credit.

I think the reality of this situation will start dawning on stoozers in the not-too-distant future. Banks are coming under increasing political pressure to lend to small & medium businesses so I think stoozing for personal borrowers may soon become a thing of the past. Only time will tell.
