company taking advantage of my disability

Just want to say thanku for all the replies, it's nice to get a perspective from both sides. As I've repeated I understand they have no obligation to refund the money, and I understand how they could lose profit (thanku to wealdroam for good explanation) but no matter what it's morally not right. In the end the company could potentially lose out on some profit, but it wouldn't be a lot for a big company. I on the other hand have lost money that could have helped ease some debts that have accumulated due to not being able to work, or got treatment and physical aid that the NHS cannot offer so I cant afford. When you have lost your career, your independace, health, future stability, the ability to go out and do all the activites and studying I used to; it's difficult to accept I'm having to lose that too so a company can stay in profit. It means a million times more to me, but if that's the way of the world then it's a bit sad. At least I found some humanity in the uni degree I did, can't win them all I guess.
