I do thank you for your help, but you are making me work for it! (no pain no gain). Avast let me down once a couple of years ago and following advice like yours from expert sites I was advised to change to a pay for package rather than a free one as you get better cover, this has proven correct since I started Kaspersky nothing has got through even though I suspect it is slowing up my boot time to some extent.
I still cannot work out why Skype is playing up though, I have a duel boot system using two HDD's with XP on one and Win 7 on the other. no problem with the 7 system just the XP"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
