Laptop won't boot up

Hi All

Wondered if anyone could help me?

I bought a Sony Vaio laptop around 2 years ago and this afternoon i turned it on but all i get is a blank screen.

I can hear the fan going but it doesnt seem to be booting up properly and no lights (apart from the power) are on.

Computer seemed to be running fine when i used it this morning - it has full virus protection so i know it isnt infected with anything.

Wondered if anyone had any advice?

Thanks in advance

Katie

    Try this
Remove battery, remove the power jack.
Open laptop and hold down the power button for 15 to 30 seconds
Stop holding power button and plug into mains.
    Try powering on again.

holding down the on off button for 6 seconds should have the same effect without removing power lead/battery - often happens due to a resume from hibernation failure.

if that doesn't work, probably a hardware problem - nvidia graphics card?
