Insurance renewal and claims
hi all,
long story short...
had quite a large accident last october and got my car fixed no problem through insurance. Then i had a claim come in from other driver for injury and his car.
question is...im almost positive ill get shafter with renewal come march and im wondering that even with a claim pending can i shop around for insurance, or is it a matter of sucking it up and getting on with it?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

You can shop around but just be honest.0

oh yea honesty wont be an issue.
but will the insurance company send me out the usual renewal letter with the new updated NCB (SO close to protected too..gutted) and then i can go and show that to another company, say ive had a a claim and if they are cheaper use them?
and that wont efect the claim process with the original company?0 -
Yep you'll probably be shafted. You'll be back to 2 years no claims if you have full NCD and loaded for the accident.
Shop about but please be honest and mention the accident claim when getting quotes. I know soemone that didn't and it came back to bite him.Near a tree by a river, there's a hole in the ground.

im awaiting the shafting, but shopping around always helps! i read the leaflet on claims with the company and as i was on 4NCB ill be back to 2, 5 years would have been 3 so fingers crossed!
main question was can i move companies even though the claim hasnt been settled, and it seems i can so thats a small positive!0
