M&S Shareholder Vouchers

Are there any M&S shareholders out there?

I got some vouchers yesterday but they are in Euros and the Ts & Cs say for use in Rep of Ireland.

Anyone else had this ( from non Rep of Ireland)

    I have a few shares in M&S.

But no shareholder vouchers in either €Euro or £Sterling! I get dividends in scrip ........ so it may take a few days longer. But there is one due mid-Jan ............ so I'll book the ferry now!

My annual free cup of coffee courtesy of the Cafe Revive £3.50 voucher could prove a bit expensive? I suspect (if you've read the thread about the chaos with their Statements) they've sub contracted the issue to Santander!

I received mine this morning in good old pounds sterling. Have you (or your broker if holding is in a nominee account) done something to make M&S think you are in the Irish Republic?
  • Contacted them todayand advised that a mistake has been made with some of the vouchers that they are aware off.

They are now going to send me the correct vouchers.

  • So the Irish Euro is different from, say, the French one?

Your new ones will be in £Sterling. T&C will say only redeemable in England!

I wonder if there's a noun that has never been 'verbed'?

Not sure what your point is??

Simply that your vouchers are in Euros, but only redeemable in a specific part of Europe.

I was just light-heartedly suggesting that those issued in £Sterling might also be limited to a small part of UK - for example England. Not "Scotland" where you live.

Down here we have a rather warped sense of humour.

Yes, I thought it was £3.50 last year and maybe even the year before that. Now (in 2012) it's gone down to £2.50. How mean can they get? I'm not sure it will even fund a single cup of coffee at M&S prices.
