compensation for incorrect ccj?
hiya new to this, just need some advice.
ok long story short..... had debts, did iva about 4 years ago, compleated iva with all parties satisfied about 2 years ago. recently still cant get ANY credit so did credit report and found a live ccj on credit file thats been running for 4 years. i had no knowledge of this. im sure this is why ive been unable to re build my credit. wrote a few letters got to the bottom of it, heard today that it was put on in error as creditor had not contacted their debt chasers to say account was settled. and that the ccj is being removed from the files inc, courts and credit files asap.
right thats great!! not complaining, but can i claim compensation? i have been unable to get any credit i cant even get a current account, for the last few years. ive suffered with depression through money worries like most others! and im just thinking if procedures were done correctly i could by now have been well on my way rebuilding my life. any advice???

Compensation in the uk (I think from my currently limited legal base of knowledge) is based on damages. You'd have to prove not only their negligence (which sounds straight forward in your case) but actual loss as a result of their negligence.Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
