Any point in keeping an Opus card?

This time next week, my Opus card balance will be £0. Not impressed with them hiking my Citicard rate from 19% to 29.9% but it's their loss anyway, now they can make 100% of nothing.

So the question is, would there be any point whatsoever in keeping this card in the hope of either balance transfer offers, or a lower APR once cleared? Or is this card just meant for sub-prime "scum" ? :)

Given that your account was sold to the same sub-prime arm of Bank of Scotland that issue the sub-prime Aqua Card I wouldn't hold out any hope of an APR decrease or special offer.

SAV Credit aren't in the market for low returns unfortunately. Time to ditch & switch :o

Possibly. Depend how many other cards you have and whether you need new lines of credit. I wouldn't bin it just out of principle. Old cards can sometimes offer good opportunities (as long as they don't incur a dormancy fee).
  • Dont touch this card with a barge pole. Get rid if you can. Citi card sold 50000 accounts to Opus and then totally ignored customer requests for the statements that were stored online with them previously. Then opus have managed to lose 2% of the payments that were made to the new Opus accounts. We were left in the situation that our cards were stopped even although we paid the full balance of the bill, provided them with the date it was paid, account it was paid from and account it was paid into. They say that due to a backlog of 'lost' payments they cannot deal with it for 3-4 weeks. They have single handedly put our small business in jeopardy. I have paid all my bills, all my taxes and Vat on time ALWAYS but due to this incompetent company I could lose it all. Beware. The FSA have written to them but I dont hold much hope of getting this resolved quickly.
  • Why on earth would you lose your business because of a lost credit card payment?
