Property Developer/Our Flat - Our Dream Home!!!!

Hi Again Everyone,

A further update. We ended up looking at four of the five houses we wanted to view today and the first 3 were lovely but just didn't have that extra something. We have plenty of time to look so are lucky enough to be fussy and hold out for something we really like.

Well, you know when you are looking for a house and you get "that feeling"

When we stepped into the hallway of the fourth one I got a strange sensation, the lady showed us the lounge and then the kitchen by which time I was hooked. I could see the lovely 60ft garden which had been well looked after. We than went upstairs and there were two double bedrooms and a really good sized third, a brand new bathroom and separate loo.

By the time we got back to the front room, having asked all the right questions, I was really choked and almost in tears. My partner had almost the same reaction. The lady has four children who have grown up and fled the nest and she and her husband have lived there for 42 years and are downsizing to a bungalow. They have somewhere to go but had been messed about by previous potential buyer and now she was in a position where she wants to be in her new home by the end of November. We explained our posistion and said that it would be more than possible.

All I can say is that the house is perfect it has obviously been loved and they have redecorated throughout with max 18 month old professionally fitted kitchen and bathroom. We told her there and then we were going to make an offer and then went straigh to the Estate Agents and offered the asking price. We could have offered less but a. we didn't want to get into a bidding war and lose something we wanted and also we are very fortunate to be in the position we are and we could pass on a little of that luck.

When the estate agent phoned to accept he had said that after we left he had phoned her to say that two of the other viewers from that day had asked for a second viewing but she had said no she wanted to sell her home to us and would wait for the offer.

I may be joining the race to be in for Christmas board now!! We are lucky that we can stay in the flat and move in when it's convenient for us and it does also mean that we won't have that money in the bank for long and also not be saving by not paying the mortgage but we know we won't find anything more perfect!!

I really need to point out to you all that I am definitely not gloating with my long posts - I just am so excited!!!!

  • I don't blame you - everything is going so well for you I'm not surprised you're chuffed!!

I know what you mean about that feeling when you find the place you want to live in - and our buyers said the same about us (that they wanted us to have their flat) it's nice when that happens, kind of makes you feel like it was meant to be doesn't it?

    Well done!!
