The 39 Steps London @ The Criterion Theatre

Based on the 1935 murder mystery novel by Alfred Hitchcock, The 39 Steps takes audiences into the unpredictable and highly entertaining life of a Richard Hannay from London. The handsome young gentleman is totally dissatisfied with the monotony of his life which revolves around clubbing and watching plays and movies. Hannay is craving for change when fate decides to throw it right in his face; he finds a young German woman, a femme fatale, dead in his living room. Hannay flees and the police start a chase. The 39 Steps is about the thrilling twists and turns common to a Hitchcock murder story, you will be left at the edge of your seat anticipating disaster and living the last second escapes of Richard Hannay as he is pursued from his genteel London apartment to the rugged Scottish Highlands for a murder he did not commit.

John Hopkins plays the role of Richard Hannay and justifies completely the acting margin his character offers. The director’s does a marvelous job also. Using minimal stage sets, excellent music, slapstick style comedy, shadow puppetry and superb suspense effects, The 39 Steps ensures a breathless, hearth pounding suspense experience you will not get to see too often.

Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together
