I have a Halifax card witha 9350 limit
I recently paid off 5000 i paid it on the 8/12/10 expecting it to take a couple of days and my statemnt was dated the same date.
I just got a letter saying my limit was reduced to 6000 as i didnt make the minimun oayment last month.
I thought the 5000 was into the next month but looking now it shows as in the previous month as the statemnt date was 8/12/10
Is there any point phoning to see if my limit would be increased back to what it was.

You can always try but you need to be aware that billing dates can vary month on month. It's a pain. Alternatively you can set up DD for at least the minimum payment each month and make over payments on top!0

Yes indeed call them anyway to request a DD be set up to take the minimum payment each month, and whilst your there explain the situation, be humble and apologetic, and see if they can re-instate the prior limit. They may need to speak to a credit referral / underwriting team but if you call up apologising, offering a small interim debit card payment, and set up a Minimum Payment DD they could very well indeed do this for you.
