I have been asked to buy one for a friend!
NIGHTMARE !
I hate and immediately igonore all those that shout I will not post nigeria in huge (and some times, coloured) letters
I dislike those with huge mailing costs but dont actually say they are sending by Special delivery
I detest those that give so many demands that I am bored half way through reading them!
arrrrgggg
Yes I know the reasons BUT as a buyer, its very off putting !
I am going to look for a user friendly seller with any conditions listed nealty, in an easy to read setting that has already stated SD for mailing! Time will tell if they exist:D for they type of phone that is required!!

Having sold many phones on eBay I can see why people put this and why they try to make it so clear........just take a look at competed mobile listings and see how many buy it nows for high prices get purchased by people that end up as 'no longer a registered user' soo after. This is becuase many of them are scammers trying to procure a Nigerian shipment. I would only sell a mobile if it was 'immediate payment via Paypal' as this does weed some of the scammers out and for what its worth I would always state that I do not ship to Nigeria. Why should that make me a bad seller? Im just trying to make an honest sale for a reasonable price to a genuine buyer.0 -
Professional eBay phone sellers have been hit so many times that they can't afford to be nice.
Why not just go for one on a "better than free" cahsback contract? Can I help?0 -

i never used to put that except a line saying i wont post abroad- ive relisted the phone 4 times because of scammers! last time really did want to put it in big letters (bloke wouldnt let me) grrr its so frustrating and delays what should just be a 7 day listing to months of re-listing! so no wouldnt put me off if someone has that in big letters - i understand completelyYes Your Dukeiness

I have to agree with OP. If I see a list of conditions I don't bother reading them and find a different buyer. I understand totally why they feel they have to do it, but I can't stand a list of 'rules' that they have, and sometimes they are rude. I know they're only trying to be rude to any scammers to out them off, but I feel like I'm not getting any sort of good customer treatment.
Saying that, I wouldn't mind if they said 'I'm sorry, but I am unable to post this item outside of the UK'... it's just when they have 'NO TIMEWASTERS. NO I WILL NOT SEND THIS PHONE TO NIGERIA. IF YOU HAVE NOT PAYED WITHIN 7 DAYS YOU WILL GET AN AUTOMATIC NEG' kind of stuff that I don't like the seller automatically and don't want to buy from them.0 -

Have to agree, it wouldn`t put me off either if it was a phone that i wanted.
I sold 2 on Ebay last week and although stating ( but not in such large font ) That i would only ship inside the uk, i still had the same bidder on both phones who was registered i Thialand !!! .
Butter than Nigeria though i suppose :rotfl: .
Best of the fun was that although i cancelled his bids stating that my listing entailed only positing inside the uk, he proceded to re-bid again, so in the end i had to block him completly, and that was with just 1/2 hour to go.
Now i`ve sold both allthough i`ve now picked up one of those dreadful buyers us sellers bump into from time to time.
But thats another story.
SO i say if it`s the phone you want then big letters shouldn`t make a difference0 -
I put it as once I had to list something 7 times because of scammers0

eBay UK are no doubt going to end up losing the largest portion of their mobile phone auctions to Carphone Warehouse soon, they have launched their own specialist mobile phone auction service, https://www.mymobileauction.comAccording to Carphone Warehouse, this kind of approach has a major advantage over other auction sites as users are asked to provide their phone's unique IMEI number. This is then checked against the CheckMEND stolen property database. Stolen phones will be rejected, stopping thieves abusing the site.
