Nova Scotia

We are looking at doing a fly drive holiday the first two weeks of the school holidays. The cheapest flights we can find to Halifax from Manchester are with Icland Air via Reykjavik. DH fancies a 2/3 night stopover there on the way home.

Can anyone suggest must do places to see in Nova Scotia, other than Cape Breton NP I'm not sure what else there is there. We have done several of these types of road trips in the US and Canada before and I'm not really keen on lots of one night stopovers as I find it too exhausting. I was thinking of 1 night in Halifax plus 4 other 2/3 night stops along the way, or is it worth spending more than 1 night in Halifax?

Also what's the weather likely to be like at that time of year?

I've replied to your PM, but on reflection I think the price was nearer to £700 per person. Canadian Affair have the cheapest prices but unfortunately only fly from Gatwick, which is a nightmare journey from where we live. But we are tied to the school holidays which bumps the price up even more.
