One thing I found was due to driving with my Dad and mates with a provisional I had loads of confidence but also loads of bad habits which it took ages to get out of. Don't have 'practise' sessions with mates or family until you've had a godd few lessons and are doing everything properly ;-)

    Hi there,

Go to safewayuk.com , if you book a block 20 lessons and pay upfront, each lessons comes out at £18 per/hr. And, their instructors are quite ok. Call them up at their 0800 number and see what they say. I live in finchley and you can see on their site whether they do your area or not.

I've taken about 2 individually paid lessons with them which were a bit expensive than if u book block lessons and they teach reasonably well. I had to put my driving plans on hold as I'm gonna start a professional financial course in december, so trying to save up for that. So have to wait for a year or so :( .

    Anyhow check them out.

    Regards

Local instructors are great. One I used charged £10 for the first lesson and £17 after.

I took 67 hours to pass, I got no lessons with friends or family. Took 3 tests too!

Started at just £16 a lesson, and this wasd last year. Its always going to be cheeper in the countryside than the city I'm afraid.
