    Hi

I used this and it was very good. Just be aware that sometimes the total debt owed does not is not always accurate as it is based on the figures you give Payplan when you first set up your DMP. As the plan goes on any additional charges and interest may not get added so you might see a better figure than you really ought. Not sure whether by giving Payplan regular statements this changes or not but on the whole it was great to be able to manage everything online.

I've joined Payplan at then end of last year and was told last week that we would work to pay off the figures given at the begining and then once theses are paid thay will get in touch with creditors to see if they will write off any charges or interested occured during this period. (She said they were usually succesfull but don't know how true that is)

Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
  • I found them great. Previously I was with a small company that charged me £30 a month to administer my DMP and Paypal are free so I switched. At first I found the human element had been lost, but they had an overhaul a few months back and have different case officers than before, and really do seem to be interested in helping you become debt free. Now I'm paying 70% more a month to my creditors than before and couldn't have done it without Payplan.

after seven years l am at this point, l have been told to write to Ombusman over the charges and interests by creditors.. Though l am going to write to Barclay and Rbs, to see if l got agreement form.. I have posted this thread before.. We found we got another two years to pay so taking us to nine years.. on Payplan..

Payplan good giving advice.. They reassured us when we felt overwhelmed by nasty creditors.. We paid in cash found it easier than direct debit.. we paid at paypoint.. which got to them quicker.
Now we pay by JB (tuxedo)card..(they changed to this card from paypoint) that cost extra to run, also it takes four days for payment to reach, JB card, paid at postoffice.. Then 3-7 days working to reach payplan using the JBdebit card.. We also paid £5.00 (ten) each for insurance in case, something happen, on life and it will protect our debts while dmp is running. These are worth thinking about.. They have their own website Justabank, which shows every aspect of budject, creditors, letters to creditors, also through emails you can ask for information or details which save money phoning them, though they will phone you back if you leave a message.. We are due for a review which goes over coming in and going out money matters.. earnings, and bills etc.. I have heard, that they accpt people with limits.. not sure how true it is.. We did pay £100.00 towards debts this got reduce, due to change income. good luck to all

I am in the same situation as OP and rang Payplan on Friday, our debt is just over £38,000 and we have been trying to keep up with minimum payments for a long time. Things came to a head this month as our kids need trousers as they are growing quickly now and we have no spare money. When I spoke to Payplan on Friday they were really understanding and didn't judge me. I am getting a call back on Monday, they have asked me to get all details together for the phone call and the call will take a while as they have to go through everything. I felt a lot better straight away.

I have been getting calls from Capital One as I haven't paid them this month, I kept ignoring them as I didn't know what to do. However, I plucked up the courage to answer yesterday and I told them I can only pay a small amount and that I am dealing with Payplan, they took my Payplan reference number and said they will stop all calls chasing for money and will hold until they receive correspondence. I am really hoping that the call from Payplan goes well on Monday.

Goodluck with your call on Monday Poor Churchmouse x

Thanks all for the advice. We submitted the initial contact form on Payplan's website on Sunday and (even though it said they were closed Sundays) they called back. Sadly we missed the call but they left a very nice message and we'll be talking to them today so the ball is rolling albeit slowly.

P.s. I'm not with Capital One for anything but hats off to them for being so understanding Fisyear!

Hi, I am in a similar situation to the OP - knew this was coming, and now I'm finally going to take the plunge, and payplan seem a good option.

One question that isn't answered on their website - is there a minimum monthly payment that you have to make? for example some DMPs that charge you make you pay back at least £100 pm - is this the same for payplan?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

As a rule we say a minimum of £100 however due to circumstances, creditors or level of debt it could possibley be lower. It all depends on you as we work on a case by cases basis.

    I hope this has helped.

    Lizzy.

  • Got 'the call' coming from Payplan tomorrow. I'm nervous and worried about the near future but also some relief that we might get somewhere.

Good luck with the call! You'll feel so much better once you have spoken to them properly and have your budget etc worked out for you. It was a huge relief to me, let us know how it goes! :)
