i know ive ended up with a minus figure but thats why ive been struggling so much to save up, i do work some OT but is very limited now and i dont really want to work it either once im BR as there is no personal benefit from it.

the hard bit to put in a SOA is i have to pay for my own diesel then claim it back minus private milage which meansit can be 50 claim back one month then the next month ive had to put 200 in which causes me massive problems trying to find that extra 150... to the extent my dad has been filling my car up for the last few months when im short and i must owe him over 300 in fuel costs alone let alone the food hes helped with along with buying my daughter a new bed when her old one broke and many other things.

cheers for the help in advance guys/gals

Does your partner not contribute to the household expenses?

    hi there
have you seen the prescription prepayment card you get? it works out as £10.40 a month which covers all of your prescriptions, so would work out cheaper for you...

The OR may not let you claim the private mileage, your only justification for having the car is for work. You may have trouble claiming it.

commuting to and from work is classed as private milage (or should be there is a current 'workaround') but they have got very strict with milage currently, surely going to the shops for food/clothing and taking my daughter to nursery etc would be ok for private milage, or i would have to add public transport.

its a round trip of about 26 miles to and from work so it adds up, maybe not to £100 but a good £50-60 minimum

my main concern is what happens when i have a quiet month and only need £100 worth of diesel then have jobs all around the UK and need £300 the next month, would the OR give me the extra £200 or allow me to have it left in my account as a busy month fund of sorts

Ok next stage done, just got back from coop and opened a cashminder account, they were really nice about the whole thing and it was accepted straight away, just got to wait for the paperwork and card so i can put some cash in just to properly activate the account within 20 days.

As horrible as this whole process has been it feels really nice to be finally geytting this sorted, nearly took two years but i can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

so then ive filled in 90% of the paperwork following the guide on the CAB site its just the SOA and bank accounts when i get my cashminder details through

can anyone confirm if this SOA is acceptable, it leaves me with negative excess but that really is a usual month, were already scaping the freezer now and i dont get paid for 10 days

Are you sure you're getting all the benefits that you're entitled too? Put your details in this website to check:

    http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx

Edit - just saw the bit at the end of your post, I'm guessing CTC would help out with the minus amount on SOA too.

ive been through that and CTC would get me an extra £220 a year so still in the red but only just, i was expecting this as it is normal on any month i dont get overtime that we have no cash whatsoever a week or so before payday.

i am as stated though currently on the sick so definatly no OT, and i will be talking to the manager letting him know after all this i will not be working any OT as it 1, is starting to affect my health mentally and physically and 2, is pointless if it means i have to pay it straight to the OR anyway.
