Axa Pet insurance: renew or take identical new policy and save 40%?

Our renewal for our one year old Border Terrier has come through and a quick play on Axa's web site shows that a new policy for him would be around 40% cheaper than taking up the renewal.
We've claimed a small amount for some inconclusive tests when he was off his food for a few days, but no underlying 'condition' has been diagnosed during his first year.
Is this a no-brainer and we should take out a new policy under the same terms as the existing one and save ourselves £100?
The cynic in me thinks that the insurance companies offer these teaser rates to appear high on comparison sites, but they somehow forget to tell you at the time that they are offering you a highly discounted rate. They also know that once they have you on-board it is difficult to change providers at renewal time if your pet has been ill.

Although he's not been diagnosed with anything if you take out a new policy and things flare up again they will use it as a get-out clause and won't pay out since he's had tests.
Personally I would ring up and say you've seen for new customers it's much cheaper, and your dog's tests did not result in a diagnosis, can they perhaps meet you in the middle so you get a better deal.0
