Can I sell an uninsured car?

  • Hello all - its also worth bearing in mind that with many DOC extensions of cover in order for you to be insured third party on your own policy then the car you are driving must already be insured in someones name. Don't ask me why:confused: , its something that my DH was caught out by a couple of years ago.

  • I've now changed the vehicle on my current insurance to the new car, and also taken 30 days temporary cover for the 'old' car which cost another £25 (Norwich Union). I decided this was a good price because it gives the same cover, ie fully comp, includes hubby and son and business cover. £25 is much less than one months cover costs on the normal policy and we get full use of both cars. Didn't ask whether £25 is a standard price or based on my policy but it's worth it for me.

    hiya

    I sold my old car without insurance I just advised the buyer and he organised a temp cover note to drive it.
