The eventual answer will be exchangeable battery packs. Changing packs need only take a minute or two.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

It's quite easy to knacker a battery in an unnoticeable way. It's also a lot harder to test than, say, a gas bottle.0

This I can see as a bonus for some that like myself that commute 5 - 6 miles each way to work everyday then doesn't really use the car regularly in the evenings. But for intercity travel? Nah not at the moment.

The thing to remember is that its at the stage the petrol engined car was at in 1900 ish. Give it the same sort of timescale for development and then the car will be viable.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

an automated battery changing system that fits a generic battery to electric vehicles. drive the car over a pit and a machine will remove your battery and fit a fully charged one.
customer will pay for battery rental rather than a charge.
charging centres will obviously add costs to rental to pay for damage and to recharge batteries.
the companies making the electric cars should be given a specification to work to from a governing body about battery changing systems if they want thier product to be added to the government electric car discount scheme.
just my thoughts....work permit granted!0 -
