We've had very low temps of late- and the paint which I keep has frozen. I tried to warm it up but it is all gritty. Do I need to throw it out?

chuck it , it's no good now , your local recycling centre may have a dept for paint
just to remind everyone , don't keep paint in your shed over winter , once it freezes it's no good , one of my customers supplied some farrow and ball water based eggshell and left it in his shed , it's now no good , plus he's got 5-6 other tins , if you intend to use them , keep tins in a garage , should be ok in there , even solvent based tins don't like the cold0 -

Don't throw it away! We had this problem the day before yesterday. What did we do? Used a hand-held food mixer aka whizzer! The small fast blades mix the paint up nice and smooth again, and we have used it since with no problems. We had a really big tub of Dulux paint that we didn't want to waste, so it was worth risking the food mixer, which incidentally has cleaned up no problems. You might even find a hand held cheap food mixer that costs less than you paint you'd waste....0

We reused frozen paint. Gave it a week to defrost (Still had little bits of ice in it after a couple of days) and stirred it up with a stirry thingy on the drill.
Used it with both paint brush and roller and it came out fine.
If mixing it doesn't help try straining through tights etc as previously mentioned... Paint is dear!!!Bump due 22nd September0 -
I tidied up a few areas on xmas eve. When I got the paint out the day before it was a block of ice. Left it overnight on the radiator and the following day it was fine after a stir.0
