temp contract

Hi All,
I am currently at risk of redundancy and due to end this month. The company had no suitable alternatives but have offered to make me redundant as planned and issue me a temp contract for 3 months for a role I wouldn't consider normally but its 3 months extra pay. Could they count this as part of my notice and would it effect my con based JSA at the end of it.
